Davines asked us to develop a global integrated campaign to coincide with the launch of their first ever hair & body product made entirely from sustainable agriculture practices. The creative direction led with the key belief that our connection with the Earth is something sacred and worth protecting—that what’s happening inside a budding plant is happening within each of us. That our planet’s growth is our growth. And we only grow beautiful when we grow together.

Inspired by looking within to look forward, we created a world that felt hopeful and natural. Dawn colors laid the base. Scientific annotations for process. And lumen print ingredient imagery created by physically scanned ingredients.

Contrary to other beauty campaigns, perfectly manicured hair wasn’t the focus. We showcased nature, through the perspective of the people interacting with it. We wanted the environment to feel magical, yet grounded, and to show our subjects fully enveloped with their setting.

Out in the northern California nature, we shot in the farmlands and the wild, and we got the ticks and poison oak to prove it.
